“We’ve been growing quickly over the past four years and have significant growth goals for the next few years,” says Simone Kelly, vice president of leadership development. “Our challenge is to make sure we have the right leaders with the right skills to help us reach those goals. I know leadership doesn’t happen by accident—it must be intentional.”
Kelly immediately diagnosed the situation and determined that, although BluSky provided compliance and skills training, they didn’t have an integrated plan for developing leaders. “Language helps solidify culture—so I knew we needed a leadership language that would help leaders have more productive conversations with their people. They needed to know how to conduct difficult conversations, build trust, and help their people reach individual and organizational goals,” says Kelly.
